Exo Terra Terrariums

Exo Terra can supply eight natural Exo Terra Terrariums. You have a number of options regarding the housing your pet reptile will have. We will examine the various options to help you select the best product for you and your pet. Your pet’s happiness will be dependent on the home you can give it.

The eight Exo Terra Terrariums are as follows:

• Glass Terrariums
• Screen Terrariums
• Faunariums
• Turtle Terrariums
• Flexariums
• Explorariums
• Breeding Box
• Exo Terra Starter Kits

Glass terrariums are the most popular Exo Terra Terrariums offered. These terrariums will range from 30 to 90cm in width, depth, and height. The glass terrariums are set up as desert or rainforest terrariums. The major differences between the two are going to be the width and height. Desert terrariums are longer than they are taller and vice versa for the rainforest terrariums. Rainforest reptiles tend to climb into trees, whereas desert animals like to bask and burrow.

It is imperative that you get the right style terrarium for your pet reptile based on their natural habitat. Screen terrariums from Exo Terra have distinctive qualities. They are easy to install, well ventilated, sturdy and light weight. Screen terrariums are best for chameleons or other arboreal species. You do not want screen Exo Terra terrariums for larger reptiles like Boa Snakes. They are best for small animals that will not escape. The bottom of the enclosure is solid so water or moist substrate can be used.

Exo Terra terrariums as a faunarium is an all purpose enclosure, but they are rather small. The largest terrarium is 460x300x170mm or 18”x12”x6 ½”. To compare to the glass enclosures you have 34”x18”x24”. The faunarium will not house a great deal of decorations, and are often used only for transportation between the store.

Flexariums are a mesh nylon construction. They are light weight, have great ventilation, and are escape proof. The mesh construction while it offers your pet more ventilation will not be the easiest to heat. Any heat offered will be able to reach your room, thus the inside of the terrarium will be the room temperature your house is set at. It is better to use this style of Exo Terra terrarium in tropical areas like the reptiles natural habitat.

Explorariums are an interesting style of terrarium. These are often used by scientists and other professionals. The explorarium can transport species from the wild back to a lab or allow the reptile to remain outside, but not escape. They are on the small side, so they are best for small reptiles.

A Turtle terrarium is slightly different from the glass Exo Terra terrariums because they can hold water. They allow for a full water surface with rocks for the turtles to climb onto. There is a fully open top rather than a covered one. The breeding kits and starter kits are just other options you might want depending on your intentions for your reptile, like breeding two reptiles and needing a hatchling cage.
